Many workplaces throughout the UK now require all contractors on their premises to hold a Safety Passport. The Safety Passport is a recognised and validated standard acknowledged by the HSE, driving good practice through the contractor supplier chain, increasing safety awareness and contributing to higher standards of safety performance.
Course Content
“Core Day”
(relevant for all industries)
- Introduction to H&S, environmental, safe systems of work etc.
- Work place safety access, egress, emergencies, vehicles. equipment, machinery
- Fire precautions and procedures
- Accidents – prevention and reporting, first aid
- Hazardous substances – COSHH
- Manual Handling, noise at work
“The Petrol Retail Day”
(relevant for all contractors working on petrol filling stations)

Benefits
Commonly recognised and validated standard, acknowledged by the HSE.CORE DAY EXEMPTION, any individual that has previously attended an SPA-approved nationally recognised course of health and safety can apply for exemption. At present the SPA passport scheme recognizes that delegates who have completed and passed the following training courses within the last two years (except for NEBOSH Certificate which has no time constraints) do not need to attend the SPA passport scheme Core training day (day 1 of our course):

Learning outcomes
On completion of the course delegates will:
- Demonstrate their understanding of the subjects by successfully completing each module assessment paper
- Appreciate how they personally can influence good standards within health safety & environment
- Understand the value of risk assessment and have the knowledge to recognise when changes to a generic assessment is required
- Understand the common hazards associated with working in this sector
